My husband and I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights (an extended weekend) there. We were greeted by the owner and his wife, whom immediately extended a warmth and comfort that continued throughout our stay. I also had the honor of practicing yoga with the owners wife! All the staff were attentive and professional. The food at their beachfront restaurant was excellent, well presented, and very reasonably priced (better than other local eateries). The cabanas were well suited with great views of the water. Our stay was relaxing, thus we were sad to depart. We are looking forward to our next visit there.

It is difficult to put into words what my son and I liked about this intimate hotel because everything was just marvelous from the warm welcome we received on arrival to the help with our luggage at the end of our five day stay. The hotel is located right on the most glorious beach, where there was an ample supply of sunbeds. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the ocean and was absolutely delightful. The restaurant served delicious food all day and there was waiter service on the beach. Last but not least, the staff were unfailingly attentive and helpful and really made us feel pampered.

Loved the place. It is located in the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. The staff was great, very friendly. It is the best value for your money. However, there a few -if any-luxury hotels in Tulum- so dont expect luxury. You can expect great food, great people and staff, clean and well designed simple rooms and a beautiful beach. The best place to disconnect and get away from it all!

The location and beach are phenomenal. The beach is like talcum powder and the design of the hotel with nature is fantastic. All of the wood used in construction is from the palm/coconut trees. It just feels like paradise. The night view is spectacular under the stars with the minimal lighting on the beach.

The hotel is in a very quiet area of Tulum (at the end of the hotel strip and close to the entrance of de eco-reserve) which makes it an excellent spot to chill and relax without too much crowd around you. Rooms are very trendy, clean and the bed is large and comfortable. We had a garden view (sand and coconut trees) but could even spot the sea from our terrace (rooms 12/14). You can feel that the hotel has been renewed/refurnished very recently. The beach is excellent, clean with nice and comfortable chairs, pillows, ... perfect price/value!
The restaurant itself serves great food, but if you want something else you will have to walk/drive some distance (closest is BeTulum > which is great but bit more expensive). The restaurant with different stages by daylight is wonderful but it could be a bit more ambient/cosy in the evening.

It is beatifully located between the palm trees with a secluded beach. Rosa del Viento has a great italian restaurant with a good selection of pizza, pasta, seafood and meat (we stayed 5 nights so managed to try most different dishes). Both the italian owner and the staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and nicely decorated, have electritity 24/7 and free wifi. This hotel is perfect for a relaxing and romantic getaway from the huge hotels and many tourists in cancun and playa del carmen.
The included breakfast menu´s could be more varied, but you have the option to add fresh fruits etc from the a la carte menu.

Isolated location at the end of the strip of hotels next to the biosphere made for great relaxation on a near deserted beach - although this means that a car is essential to get the most out of your stay. Right on the beach. Hammocks and 'beds' on the beach were very comfy. Staff friendly and trustworthy. Its simplicity was also appealing. Tasty and good value food in the restaurant - although not as good value as eating at some local places in town. Massimo, one of the owners was very friendly and accommodating - particularly when we forgot to lock the safe and had to ask him to do this for us.
Just a few minor things... 1. Leaking window when it rained heavily - which it did a lot as we were there during the rainy season. 2. Brackish water shower was not good enough to get all the sand off our skin - although some may say we benefited from permanent exfoliation! 3. Lack of storage space for clothes and no hooks in the room or bathroom for hanging additional towels, bedrobes, jackets etc., 4. Service in the restaurant was variable and depended on who was working. Jose/Juan (sorry - we cannot remember his name) who greeted us on the first evening was exemplary and made an effort to remember our names, but others were less attentive.

This hotel is on a perfect location tot some days of relaxing. Del Viento is a small complex with about ?15 cabanas? It's on the road in direction of Punta Allen and about a 20 minute drive from the center of Tulum. The cabanas are new, comfortable and close to the beach.
On the moment we stayed they were busy with the construction of new cabanas. Next to the fact that is could affect the small-scale character of the complex we had some noise nuisance. After two days the including breakfast was already boring. Just eggs or some kind of ridiculous Italian breakfast with old bread, a fake croissant and some jam. The prices in the restaurant for dinner are as we are used off in Europe. A little too high for Mexican standards. The pizzas are good. The hotels next to Del Viento are all abandoned, that's a little weird.

We loved the relaxed atmostphere, the excellent location, the peace and quiet, the attentive staff, the restaurant was excellent as was the range of cocktails and wine. The location is semi remote about 15mins from Tulum centre, which suited us perfectly. Please take time to look at the amazing scene in the night sky, we couldn't believe how magnificent the night sky is when not affected by light polution. This hotel provided us with outstanding value for money, we hope to return sometime soon!
